A place for traditional weaving and spinning!

About Our Farm

We live on a small farm in Franklin County. We love the simple traditional life style. Although, today it is much harder to live at a slow pace we strive to keep as much simplicity in our lives as possible. We raise pygora goats, mini llamas, alpacas, and sheep for their fiber. It is a great pleasure to see new lambs and llamas arrive and watch them grow and produce us the fiber to hand weave beautiful clothing designs.

We shear our animals in March or April. As each animal is shorn we sort there wool into separate piles according to overall quality of the fiber. The wool is then washed, carded, spun and hand woven. It is at this time the beautiful texture takes form and you see the beauty of the wool.

Gypsy is our mini llama. She is about the sweetest thing on the farm. Her fiber is so soft and shiny. This is a new venture for the farm but we are sure there are more minis in our future. Gypsy’s fiber is hand clipped and only the best of the fiber is kept for spinning and hand weaving.
Flax is another fiber that is raised on the farm. We plant it in the spring and pull it sometime around May. Processing flax into linen is very labor intense. We felt due to the history of flax it was important to try and keep the knowledge and use of linen available to others. We love the fresh clean feel of linen. I am sure you will love the linen clothing and other designs we have made for you. Check out the flax process here.
